Racqueteers.co.uk was formed in 2016 to provide the sports community with a means to sell or buy used sports rackets.
Racqueteers comprises of a very small bunch of keen tennis players who wanted to put something back into their community and sport.
We found that it was extremely difficult to replace existing rackets that we had played with for many years,
without having to buy, expensive new rackets that were not an exact match. Getting used to a different racket always
took time and in many cases, you had to start to rebuild your game all over again or even worse, try another racket.
We want to make tennis more inclusive and reduce the cost of taking up the sport. We hope to achieve this by creating a dedicated
market place that allows people to buy and sell second hand tennis rackets, without hidden extra cost. By doing this we also hope
to reach out to different areas of the country to encourage people from disadvantaged backgrounds and to include more diversity in the sport.
We are a none profit making organization. We only charge £1 to the seller on a successful sale of their racket. The £1 is put towards
the maintenance, hosting and small upgrades to the website.
We hope that by getting the word out about what we are trying to achieve, we will be in a position to set up a charity in the future to help
children from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds to take up the sport. We have a very long way to go to achieve this.
On the our sites front page we have the words "That racket could be the first racket of the next Andy Murray".
